About Beaufort

Beaufort is the second oldest city in South Carolina and has many historical qualities, which can be seen both in it's culture, heritage and architecture.

Beautiful homes from the Antebellum Era line the streets of Beaufort's Historical district, and walking and horse-drawn carriage tours are offered  daily.

The marina is located on the Beaufort River and offers regular tours of the area by boat and a dinner tour by boat.

Waterfront Park is located in the Historical district along side the Beaufort River.  Here, you will find a huge playground for children, porch swings and several open-air cafes and restaurants. 

Bay Street runs parallel to Waterfront Park  and is lined with stores that are mostly geared toward art and craft items.

Beaufort has also been used as a backdrop for several well known movies, which include Forrest  Gump and  Prince of Tides.
